Restricting antibiotics in livestock

PCC joined 377 health, agriculture, environment, animal protection, religious, and other interest groups to sign on in support of the Preservation of Antibiotics for Medical Treatment Act (PAMTA), H.R. 965, which was reintroduced by Congresswoman Louise Slaughter (D-NY). PCC has supported similar versions of this bill five times since 2000, including in May 2010. More than 377 organizations now endorse the bill.

The bill would limit the use of seven classes of antibiotics currently used to treat animals.
