Apply to be a Trustee with PCC Natural Markets
Help guide the future of the largest member-owned food market in the country. We are seeking candidates who have business acumen, prior board and retail experience, and a commitment to PCC’s values, including social and environmental responsibility.
PCC is committed to a culturally diverse staff and board of trustees. We are on a steady, sustainable path for growth. In 2015, PCC Natural Markets’ sales were more than $250 million and membership reached more than 56,000 active co-op members in the greater Seattle area.
Our ideal candidate is collaborative, thinks critically and has the time to dedicate to board service. Fiduciary, co-op, grocery, real estate and e-commerce experience is a plus.
Trustees serve a three-year term.

September board meeting
The board met on September 27.
The board heard from members who wanted to voice their concerns about the PCC store slated to open in Madison Valley.
The Nominating Committee reported on its work to date in preparation for the 2017 board of trustees election. The committee met in August and selected Janet Hietter to serve as chair. Sandy Voit is the board’s representative for the committee. The committee reviewed and approved candidate application materials, as well as the nominating process timeline. The committee also completed interviews of current trustees and management for feedback. The trustee application deadline for the 2017 election is December 2, 2016. Interviews will take place in mid-December.
The board heard a brief report from the Board Development Committee. The committee discussed the ideal top skills and experience for trustee candidates and will be working in collaboration with the Nominating Committee on ways to enhance the candidate interview and election process. The committee will also be assessing training, education and onboarding for new trustees.
