PCC Community Grant winner

Community Kitchen at Seattle Pacific University (SPU) is the latest winner of a PCC Community Grant. The Community Kitchen was launched shortly after the university remodeled its food and nutrition lab in 2011. The faculty opened up the new space to the community, with the goal of using food as a catalyst for education, collaboration and community building.

The program gives students opportunities to apply skills they learn in the classroom while simultaneously providing opportunities for community members, including those with limited budgets, to improve their diet by developing nutrition education and cooking skills.

PCC’s $2,000 grant will help fund kitchen supplies, recipe testing, student team member training and a student program coordinator.
