Description

It might be winter in the Pacific Northwest, but there is no reason we can't enjoy a little trip to the tropics by way of a homecooked meal. Escape to the tropics in this hands-on cooking class celebrating bold Caribbean flavors, inspired by where Chef Christa has sailed, cooked and lived in the warmer latitudes. We’ll make zesty Garlic Lime Shrimp, juicy Chicken Skewers with tangy Guava BBQ Sauce, and fragrant Coconut Rice paired with a refreshing Crunchy Slaw. To finish, you’ll master the art of flambé with Pineapple topped with creamy vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. A trip to the Caribbean has never been so quick or so delicious.

About the instructor: Christa Demment González has taught and cooked in different roles around California, Maine, South Carolina and the Caribbean. With a Master’s degree in Nutrition from Bastyr San Diego and over 15 years of experience cooking in unique and challenging environments, she finds new ways to translate nutrition science into simple, mouth-watering recipes. She shares her nutrition knowledge through culinary medicine courses for healthcare professionals. Her enthusiasm encourages warm kitchen conversation and empowers participants to build their culinary confidence and recipe toolkit while exploring flavors and foods from around the world.

  • Refund Policy: Commencing November 1, 2024, cooking class fees are fully refundable to the original form of purchase if a refund is requested not less than 7 days prior to the class date. Refunds requested less than 7 days prior to the class date will not be granted. Unused class fees cannot be applied to the cost of other classes.
