Fun fact: The name “cauliflower” comes from the Latin caulis (stalk) and floris (flower). As with potatoes, cauliflower also comes in vivacious purple varieties, which you’ll occasionally spy in our produce department.

If you like the flavor of broccoli, try
Rutabagas

Our produce guru, Joe, roasts this pale yellow-fleshed root vegetable (and member of the prolific cruciferous family) with a light coat of olive oil, salt and pepper for a hearty snack. Or, fire up the oven and fill your home with the cozy fragrance of this Baked Sweet Root Combo. Get recipe »

The rutabaga: This root vegetable originated as a cross between the cabbage and the turnip. High in fiber and versatile, it can be prepared as you would other root vegetables.
