Opposing Relocation of USDA Researchers

PCC signed on to a letter urging the U.S. Senate to reject the relocation of U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) research agencies from Washington D.C. to Kansas City.

In June 2019, the Trump Administration announced that research staff of USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) and Economic Research Service (ERS) would be relocated to Kansas City.

Organized by the Friends of Agricultural Statistics and Analysis, the sign-on letter garnered over 170 signatures from organizations across the country. The letter expressed deep concern for the integrity of scientific research, education and investment in the United States’ agricultural industry, should the move take place.
