Ages 10 to 15, with one adult. Yule log cakes (Bûche de Noël) are a beloved holiday tradition in France. Kids can cozy up to new baking skills in this festive class, where each pair — one child and one adult — will learn to prepare their own cake to take home! Come away with new baking skills you'll find plenty of use for throughout the year, like making and shaping chiffon cake, mixing perfect chocolate frosting, creating whipped cream from scratch and crafting decorations from scratch.
Contains Dairy, Eggs, and Gluten.
About the instructor: Zola Gregory is a local food writer, recipe developer and former pastry chef. She writes a bi-weekly recipe column for the online magazine, TASTE, and her work has also appeared in Food52 and Bon Appetit. Zola’s classes are centered around supporting the home cook and emphasize getting comfortable in the kitchen through technique, a little bit of food science, and, most importantly, a sense of humor.
