Ingredients
- 2 1/2 pounds apples - peeled, cored and thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 6 tablespoons butter cut into 1/2-inch pieces
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- 1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Vanilla yogurt or ice cream, for serving (optional)
Directions
Preheat oven to 375° F. Lightly oil a 9- by 13-inch baking dish. Toss apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, lemon zest and honey. Place in baking dish.
Mix together butter, sugar, flour, oats, nuts, nutmeg and cinnamon until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples.
Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until apples are soft. Serve with vanilla yogurt or ice cream if you like.
