Ingredients
- 1 cup dried dried figs
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 6 tablespoons flour
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 3 tablespoons butter, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds
- 25 half-pieces walnuts, for garnish
Directions
Preheat oven to 350° F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Soak figs in hot water for 30 minutes; drain and finely chop.
Combine figs, sugar, flour, egg, orange zest, milk, butter, cinnamon and chopped walnuts in a bowl to form a dough. Form walnut-size pieces of dough into a balls. Roll cookies in sesame seeds until completely covered. Press a half-piece of walnut on top of each cookie. Place cookies on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until set. Serve at room temperature.
