Pastured, organic Washington chicken

PCC is pleased to announce pastured, organic Washington chickens are available now at our Fremont, Edmonds, Issaquah and Redmond stores.
They come from Palouse Pastured Poultry, a family-owned farm in Eastern Washington where Allen and Emmy Widman and their three young children raise chickens the old-fashioned way.
The chickens graze on lush pastures of organic grass and clover, along with rations of local, organic grain (no corn or soy) and peas the Widmans process and mostly raise themselves. This, in addition to their sweet demeanors, is why the Widmans refer to them as their “sweet pea” chickens.
The poultry lifestyle at Palouse Pastured Poultry also includes drinking pure water from the farm’s artesian well, freedom to roam, plenty of sunshine, and insects to peck. The birds socialize like the happy chickens they are.
“We absolutely are committed to producing the best pastured products available,” says Allen Widman. “From the day our birds are hatched to the day they are put on ice, we personally provide the care, feeding, processing and transportation in every step of production.”
PCC is excited by this new partnership and we hope to work with other small, local farmers to bring pastured, organic poultry to our other stores in the near future.
