Board meeting
There was no board meeting in February. The March board meeting agenda included a report on the 2016 financial audit, as well as management’s annual report to the board on the actions it took in 2016 to direct operations in compliance with PCC’s Ends Policies.
Ends Policies
Written with a long-term perspective, these mission-related policies embody the board’s long-range vision. Virtually every initiative that management pursues in the course of a year is guided by an element of these policies. The current Ends policy language is as follows:
Global Ends
PCC exists to create a cooperative, sustainable environment for our members and patrons where the natural and organic supply chains thrive.
- Ends A: PCC members and patrons will have access to high quality, healthful food that is fairly priced.
- Ends B: PCC membership is a respected and valued choice.
- Ends C: PCC has a local focus.
- Ends D: PCC members and patrons are well educated in matters of healthful foods, healthy sustainable living and the cooperative business model.
- Ends E: An inherent part of PCC’s business is the balance of economic, social and environmental responsibilities.

Next board meeting
The next regularly scheduled board meeting will be on Tuesday, May 30 at 3:30 p.m. at the PCC Co-op Office: 3131 Elliott Avenue, Suite 500, Seattle, WA 98121. The member comment period is during the first 10 minutes of the meeting and comments are limited to three minutes unless a longer presentation is previously approved by the board chair.

2017 board election
This year’s election will begin April 28. You can meet the candidates in person on Sunday, May 7, at our Issaquah store from 10 a.m. to noon, or at our Greenlake Village store from 1 to 3 p.m. Brief video statements by each candidate also will be available on our website during the election.
You will receive your Election Guide (including your ballot) in the mail with your home-delivered May Sound Consumer. Ballots also will be available in all stores once the election begins. Your mailed or in-person ballot must be received by closing time in any of our stores on June 7, or by 5 p.m. at the PCC Co-op office. Ballots not received by June 7 may only be returned in-person at the Annual Meeting.
Notice of the Annual Business Meeting
PCC’s Annual Meeting will take place on June 13 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at The Swedish Club located at 1920 Dexter Avenue N., Seattle, WA 98109. Members are invited to hear reports on the state of our co-op from our CEO and board chair. There will also be time for members to ask questions and to meet the 2017 election candidates. Light PCC dessert bites and beverages will be provided. We will publish additional information in the Election Guide and online including how to register, directions and transportation/parking information.
