PCC endorses the 2015 Farm-To-School Act

June 8, 2015

Dear Members of Congress:

We the undersigned organizations, representing children’s, public health, agricultural, economic and community development, and educational interests, enthusiastically endorse the Farm to School Act of 2015.

The legislation will provide many economic, health, and educational benefits for communities across the country by:

  • Improving the health and well-being of children;
  • Strengthening children’s knowledge of food, agriculture, and nutrition;
  • Increasing market opportunities for farmers, fishers, ranchers, and food system entrepreneurs; and
  • Supporting community and economic development in rural, urban, suburban, and tribal areas.

We urge you to support this forward-looking legislation to enhance the effectiveness of the highly successful USDA Farm to School Grant Program and thereby improve healthy food choices and educational efforts for children and economic opportunities for farmers.

Sincerely,

National Farm to School Network
