Local legumes

You now can add local legumes to your cupboard with the help of Pacific Northwest Farmers Cooperative (PNW).
A family of farmers from the Palouse, PNW is dedicated to preserving family farms and protecting the land through an old-fashioned way of life. These 100-year-old farms are rooted in sustainable agriculture — their products are verified non-GMO by the Non-GMO Project and traceable to the field where they grew. You’ll find two PNW items in the bulk department at PCC. Pedrosillano Café garbanzo beans start out small but nearly double in size after soaking. Smooth and creamy with a slightly nutty taste, they make fantastic hummus. And lentil lovers will go crazy for the quick-cooking and extremely flavorful Spanish Pardina brown lentils. Try them in our recipe for Lentil Shepherd’s Pie or Tantalizing Tacos.
